How do I know if I’m a World-Changing Woman?

You are a world-changing woman if you are a mover and shaker, a game-changer, a leader in any field moving the world forward. Maybe you founded a social enterprise to solve one of our Big Problems (hunger, poverty, diversity and inclusion). Maybe you’re introducing clean/green tech that will lower greenhouse gas emissions or reduce the use of plastics. Are you a corporate leader of a B Corporation, or an “intrapreneur” working to innovate within a legacy organization? Perhaps you work in government, economic development, healthcare, or the arts, and policy change is at the heart of what you do. You could be a scientist or engineer with an invention that will cure cancer or solve the opioid crisis. You might be an impact investor. Or maybe you provide services that strengthen conscious companies so that they can focus on their mission.

If you are on a mission to make the world a better place for our children and their children, you belong at Self Smarts for World-Changing Women.

What will I get out of the kick-off weekend and at the follow-up group workshops?

Final content of the group programming at the kick-off and during the follow-up Zoom meetings will be custom-designed to fit the specific needs of the cohort. That said, here are some topics we’ll probably cover:

The neurobiology of change. You will discover any core beliefs that are getting in your way and use the science behind pattern transformation to change your very nervous system. This creates true long-term change, and will allow growth in every aspect of your life.

Balanced leadership. You will find access to the four energy patterns of a balanced leader—Driver, Organizer, Collaborator and Visionary—to get better results with less effort.

Masterful influencing. Based on deep attunement to yourself and the person you want to influence, you'll learn to deploy the right influencing strategy to get everyone moving in the same direction.

Confidence during difficult conversations. Effective communication is the basis of world-changing leadership. Whether you're talking to employees, business partners, customers, even your friends and family, you’ll learn to “make a change” versus “make a case,” and build bridges to shared resolutions.

Mindfulness and embodied self-awareness. You will learn and/or reinforce mindfulness practices that work for you. You will leave with more access to that “inner knowing” world-changing leaders rely on to cut through the noise to find clarity and decisiveness.

Power tools of presenting. You will discover how to use your voice and body powerfully, and to tap the elements of storytelling to create a compelling and memorable talk.

What will I get out of the individual coaching sessions with Rhonda?

Be prepared to completely uplevel your life. Because, during your individual coaching sessions, you will dive in deep to anything that’s keeping you from crafting and creating the biggest version of yourself possible. We often make our own glass ceilings—coaching will be the time to break through those. What are you willing to learn, invest, risk and sacrifice to grow? You’ll gain exceptional clarity on that question, and then acquire whatever support you need to make it so! These sessions are completely individualized for you; we will explore whatever comes up in a non-formulaic way. You will always leave with something to experiment with and/or integrate into your everyday life.

What will I get out of the peer coaching sessions?

After the kick-off, you will be put into a small peer coaching group (typically three to five people). You and your peers will use a formal peer coaching method (which you will practice during the kick-off weekend) focused on problem-solving. Each person provides and receives peer coaching from the group each time. Quickly and effectively, you will get whatever ideas, resources, connections, and perspectives you request from your fellow World-Changing Women.

How will participants be selected?

Anyone interested in attending will complete a short questionnaire and have a one-on-one interview with Rhonda. We want Self Smarts to be a good fit for each individual, AND we will be looking for a cohort that works well together. The selection process will focus on finding women who are ready to make this commitment to their own growth, and to be a strong group member. We will also balance factors such as age, occupation, experience, professional and personal objectives, and cultural diversity.

What does the kick-off weekend schedule look like?

The kick-off programming will be fully designed once the cohort is selected. But you can trust that it will be a balance of solitude and connection, activity and rejuvenation. You’ll steep yourself in new knowledge and practices while bonding with your peers. Probably everyone will cry at least once. And everyone will laugh, a lot.

For best results, try to limit contact with your “normal” life, although there will be time every day if you really must. What we hope is that you will use the non-scheduled time to nap, take a walk, schedule a massage, journal, dream into what's next, catch up with yourself. Inhale and exhale.

And what about the schedule after the kick-off weekend?

It will come in three waves of three. Within the first three weeks, you will have your one-on-one coaching with Rhonda; then within the following three weeks, your peer coaching; then about three weeks after that, our group workshop via video call. Repeat three times. We'll confirm dates that work with participants' calendars once we have everyone registered, but generally speaking, here’s how it will look.

Coaching #1: Between October 21 and November 8
Peer Coaching #1: Between November 11 and November 29
Workshop #1: Around December 2

Coaching #2: Between December 3 and December 20
Peer Coaching #2: Between January 1 and January 17
Workshop #2: Around January 20

Coaching #3: Between January 21 and February 7
Peer Coaching #3: Between Feb 10 and Feb 28
Workshop #3: Around March 2

Accommodations are included! Where will we be staying?

Corning is a small city of about 11,000 people, surrounded by lush farmland, deep lakes, and rolling hills. Rhonda’s studio, where we will gather for programming, is about 7 blocks from her home, where we will have most of our meals. Because we want to keep the costs low and the bonding high, you'll be staying in pairs or trios in Airbnb homes in the surrounding neighborhood. The accommodations will be chosen for providing quiet, revitalizing and restful space. (Think daisies in mason jars, squishy chairs, and cozy beds.)

You'll each have a private bedroom, but you'll likely share bathrooms. If you want more privacy than that, you are welcome to book yourself at a hotel at your own expense.

Tell me about the food!

We will gather around Rhonda’s large dining room table, or if the weather is nice, spill out onto the patio and porch. Meals will be catered, and feature simple, nutritious, organic whole food. (Think upscale potluck.) Of course, we’ll accommodate for any food allergies, sensitivities and preferences. Dinner will start with an optional cocktail hour, and include wine and beer. (Of course, non-alcoholic beverages will also be available!)

How do I get there? Where’s the closest airport?

Your best bet is to fly into the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport (ELM). (But there are many other airports within one to four hours from here…feel free to consult with us before you book your flight.) We will provide transportation from the Elmira airport to your accommodations, and between venues once you get here. No need to rent a car, unless you want to have maximum flexibility to enjoy the surrounding area. (Corning is New York State’s third-most-popular tourist destination after NYC and Niagara Falls. And we are surrounded by the Finger Lakes, wineries, breweries, natural wonders, and world-class museums…so you may want to plan some time before or after to explore it all! Especially because that weekend will be the height of fall foliage fabulosity.)

Rhonda, why did you create this program?

I have offered Self Smarts and programs like it, to many women over the last decade. It’s a proven model for profound transformation. The difference here is that I’m offering it to a cohort of world-changers.

Honestly, I created this program on behalf of my grandchildren. The world they will inherit needs more women working on moving the world forward now! Doing things like reducing carbon emissions, eliminating poverty and inequality, educating women and girls, making workplaces safe and sane, disrupting unsustainable practices of every kind, and pledging allegiance to a triple bottom line of people/plant/profits.

The way I can best serve the world, and be a world-changer myself, is to create opportunities for women leaders to grow themselves and form resilient, sustainable bonds with other powerful women. I don’t want anyone to have to put herself last in order to put “saving the planet” first. Let’s do this together!
